Cristina D’Alberto

Choreographer

Cristina D’Alberto trained at the Princess Grace Dance Academy in Montecarlo, Opus Ballet Contemporary Academy and The Place in London. Cristina has been working professionally in dance as a choreographer and performer since 2008. She has performed with companies such as TPO, Opus Ballet, GabriellaSecchi, Darkrocksflying, Bayerische Staatsoper and for many different choreographers including Claude Bardouil, Cindy Van Acker, German Jauregui, Loris Petrillo, Peter Mika.

In 2015 Cristina D’Alberto founded the collective “fika – contemporania danza” together with three female choreographers from Florence, with whom she has since toured internationally every year with a new production. She then worked with Ryan Mason on the project Through the Windshield, premiered at the Black-Box in the Gasteig, as part of the Tanztendenz residency programme. The piece was also part of the Hier = Jetzt! Festival at Schwere Reiter 2017. Cristina D’Alberto participated in the collaborative evenings I AM REAL LIFE ( with Jasmine Ellis, Moritz Ostruschnjak Katrin Schafitel and Helmut Ott) and For … To… Step … Next in Schwere Reiter. She choreographed the physical part of the performance She Me He by Amhal Khouri. Cristina’s previous work such as E = mc2 , Storie con-divise and Calamaleonte_first attack have been performed at several international festivals.

In 2018 she worked as assistant choreographer with Matteo Carvone for the production Faust at the Philharmonie am Gasteig in Munich. In the same year, she choreographed the piece Romeo and Juliet for f*** ever and ever under the direction of Caitlin van der Maas. In September 2018, Cristina got granted a debut grant from the Cultural Department of the City of Munich and created the performance somewhere / shared, which she remounted from 21 to 23 March 2019. In 2019 Cristina D’Alberto assisted the Israeli choreographer Yael Cibulski in the development of the solo Genesis and developed the choreography for the stage project Bruder Gier under the direction of Ulf Görke. From October 22. to 24. 2020, Cristina D’Alberto’s latest performance Anthologie/Blütenlese premiered at the schwere reiter Munich with the support of the Cultural Department of the City of Munich and BLZT.
