Dear IETM Members and Guests of the IETM Multi location Meeting 2020 in Munich,

Two inspiring days of IETM’s Multi-location Meeting 2020 are over. We’re thankful for the input from all over the world and the intense talks we had live here in Munich. The solidarity and support from fellow artists feels more important than ever.

Inspired by the four keynote speeches, we tackled various aspects of the independent performing arts and its possibilities and limitations during the pandemic. In our discussion, we raised a number of important questions, for example: what does audience mean in this time? Who have we always excluded and how can they be included? We want to look at our strengths as performing artists such as being acquainted with various processes, empathy, and emotions and how to explore these powers. Let’s draw motivation from the exchange of thoughts and let’s stay open to innovation but also rely on our knowledge and the strength of continuity.

At this point, we’d also like to remind you of Frie Leysen’s inspiring words. Please share them widely!

While we are all running around, busy doing things, the artists decide to stand still, to look closely at us and the societies we have constructed – at how we have organized ourselves. They look, analyze, reflect and criticize. And develop visions of what is and what could be.“

Whats up next with IETM Munich?

We also want to remind you of the IETM On the Road Meeting on 24rd of October 2020 at Pasinger Fabric, which will be a good possibility to meet up also with international guest in person, or part ways online.
